Long Overdue
Greetings family, friends and farm aficionados!
Have you felt this weird holding pattern as of late? It's kind of like time stopped or somehow started folding in on itself? Life moves forward of course, but in some sort of soupy slow churning motion. Then, every now and then the skies clear and all that seems to slip away - suddenly things feel clear for a moment. Is this what happens as we get older? I'm not sure, but I've certainly been surprised by this odd sense of time's movement.
Here we are and it's Fall again! William is doubling down...busy, busy, busy... as not only is it time to start harvesting the grains, but the last crop of hay is raked and ready to bale too. I'm trying to get the gardens put to rest, plant some garlic, transplant a few things, mulch, wash windows, pick raspberries and put away all the patio furniture. This stuff all seems so energizing in the Spring and somehow a bit defeating in the Fall. However, I do love the crisp cool mornings and the sunset on the southern horizon, so all is good! Oh! And the leaves! Wow! The color out here right now is absolutely magical.
For all you sweet COOKIE MONSTERS, I'm taking the winter off this year so there won't be food products in the Farm Store from Mid-November until I return in April. The store, however is still open as William's hay, straw, grain and other farm products are for sale year round. If you need to place an order, arrange pick up or need help loading just text William.
Thank you for your patronage and support of our work out here at Lake View and the Driftless Dirt Farm! We appreciate all of you as we close out Season Seven of the "Farm Store."
Sending love from farmlandia,
Sarah
