CBD to reduce stress AND a little information about our products.

Barn Door's Open Saturday 9-5. Check out the website for products and location. We've got inventory of everything listed on the products page of our website, but eggs are in short supply so may sell out quickly. We have ample supply of everything else. Our CBD products are certainly popular, so I thought I'd tell you a little about them. (Does that sound like the New York Times briefing?)

We're working our butts off over here! Spring is a very busy season for farming. William is burying seeds, I'm juggling online teaching, getting the gardens ready for planting and keeping up with new products for the farm store. It feels a bit frantic and very overstimulating! When our CBD/Hemp partner brought over these bath bombs this morning, I immediately began to visualize a "CBD Stress Less Protocol."

It goes like this: Draw a hot bath, drop in one of our CBD BATH BOMBS, take a dropper of our CBDA OIL, soak in the tub, towel off, relieve dry cracked skin and sore muscles with our CBD BODY BALM (smell it a lot in between rubs because its delicious for the olfactory senses), then head out to the deck for a SMOKEABLE! What could be better?

CBD Seems to Help - Here's How

Anybody else having weird dreams lately? I've read a few articles reporting that COVID-19 seems to be causing us all to suffer from some pretty intense night stories. Early on in the quarantine, I spent most nights tossing and turning and waking up in a cold sweat dreaming that I lived in a bug nest or that the only place to access the internet was in a jail disguised as a huge cement bunker. In my dream I stood back watching a line, thousands of people long, slowly shuffle in holding their laptops. I knew it was a trap. Unsettling, to say the least.

When our CBD partner pressed and bottled our first CBD hemp/sunflower oil for us, I figured it would have the same effects on me as other CBD oils I had tried - either no noticeable effect or it would make me sleepy. Boy, was I surprised to find that the crazy dreams stopped, I slept through the night and woke up feeling well-rested! That had not been the case for me for many months. Of course, being the cynic that I am, I figured it was just a fluke, but decided I would continue to take the CBD oil and pay close attention to how it made me feel. Six weeks later I still sleep soundly and the crazy dreams leave me alone. Another logical outcome is that a good night's sleep leaves me feeling way more energetic during the day.

What's the difference between our oils and others on the market? First of all, we are organic. Our oils do not have any harmful chemicals in them from the fields or through processing. We simply decarboxylate the hemp from the plant at low temperatures then press it with our sunflower oil. It is a very pure and natural way to ingest the beneficial cannabinoids found in CBD hemp. Also, we process both CBD and CBDA. CBDA is the compound at its more raw state, and seems to be very effective at reducing inflammation, helping with topical skin pain and decreasing anxiety. It certainly helps me sleep!

How do you use CBD oil and how much should I take? Well, that's a good question! I have really found for myself that I only need 1/2 a dropper in the morning under the tongue and occasionally I take a second in the afternoon. While there is quite a lot of research on this new product, it is not conclusive. From my own experience, it seems we need to try it out and pay attention to the results for ourselves. One of the CBD oils I had been trying from another company made me so drowsy I knew within a dose or two, I had to take that only at bedtime. CBD oil is taken sublingually meaning the dosage is placed under the tongue and left to absorb into the soft tissues for 90 seconds or so before swallowed. For those of you who have tried it before, you know what I mean when I say, IT TASTES PRETTY TERRIBLE!

On that note, stop by on Saturday to find our "delicious" CBD products.

Do some rain dances out there, would ya?
